Introduction
The purpose of this section is to provide the Reader with general, background information about the Web application “PRISON MANAGEMENT SYSTEM”.
Purpose
This document is the Software Requirement Specification for the project ‘PRISON MANAGEMENT ’. This SRS helps the client to understand their needs. This SRS describes the operations and functions of the system. This project deals with the web based Prison Management system(PMS). PMS is an approach to allocate prisoners in different jails in our state with out any congestion or allocation problems, so that allocation jobs which were hard and time consuming can be done easily and fast. This project will help to manage prisons in our country.
Scope
This SRS helps the client to understand the operations and functions of the PMS.SRS actually establishes a basis for agreement between the client and the supplier on what the software product will do.SRS also provides validation of the final product. There are different existing system available for managing prisoners in jail. Prison management system(PMS) is the oversight of allocating prisoners after the trial in court,so that rush in different jails can be easily managed ,thus a lot of human labor can be saved with the help of web based automation through jail management system
Overview
This SRS gives an overall description of the product components and features. The s/m has the modules such as -*Login,Friends,Messaging,Testimonials,Photo album,Search,Feedback.It also provides a detailed view of general description, specific requirements, attributes, functional requirements, external interface requirements, performance requirements, and design constraints.
Product Perspective
The existing system is a manual/static system. There are many drawbacks in the existing system, which make the existing system not feasible. Since the manual system is a routine work, the processes are manual, so the workload is very high and it takes more time to enter data in the respective books.
In the new system only few officials are required and can give better services than existing system.Here the allocator allocate the prisoners to jails according to details provided by our system and thus the prisoners can be easily allocated. Thus a new prisoners entry is processed by jail management system to properly allocate him to jail without any allocation problems or rush in jails.Thus here proper utilization of jail space take place than the old system.
The software is developed on a client server architecture model. Server software generally runs on powerful computers dedicated for exclusive use to run the business application. Clients get all or most of their information from the server. The client requests for a page or service which is validate at the server side and then the desired output is obtained from the server.
In this project, depending upon its functionality the system has been divided into various sub modules. Almost all validations and processing is performed at the server side. The client just needs to fill in the registration and request for the necessary service with the appropriate data. Only registered users can access the site.
Maintainability
The system can easily be modified since it does not contain complex procedures and terms. Any programmer can understand the system without any difficulty. Here the maintainability is performed by the Administrator with the help of the developers.
