RF BASED TSUNAMI DETECTION CENTER AND REMOTE ALERT SYSTEM WITH 60 dB SIREN
ABSTRACT:
Many people in this world are loosing their lives because of the natural calamities like tsunami and earthquakes. If we consider tsunami many people across the world near the costal areas died. A tsunami or tidal wave is a series of water waves (called a tsunami wave train) caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water usually it occurs in an ocean. For example consider in India, on 25th December 2004 had lost their lives. Some Tsunami detection centers are established world wide which detects the Tsunami and sends the information to the near by areas, these detection centers are also called as Tsunami warning centers so that we can save many lives. These centers forecast the future of the tsunami, issuing warnings to at-risk areas all around the coastal areas if needed.
These stations give detailed information about tsunamis while they are still far off shore. Here in this project we are going to demonstrate a kit which detects the Tsunami, there by getting the Siren ON and alerting the people near by it. In this project, it consists of two sections, one is Transmitter section and the other is Receiver Section.
In Transmitter section, we are using 8 magnetic sensors for indication of Tsunami. The sensors outputs are given to RF module, which consists of Encoder (HT12E) and RF Transmitter generating 433 MHz of frequency.
In receiver Section, RF Module consists of RF receiver and Decoder (HT12D). It is used to receive the signal which is transmitted by the transmitter and the decoded signal is given to the microcontroller there by operating the siren and alerts the people near by.
The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card-sized single-board computer developed in
the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation . The Raspberry Pi has a Broadcom
BCM2835 system on a chip which includes an ARM1176JZF 700 MHz processor
Video Core IV GPU and was originally shipped with 256 megabytes of RAM, later
Upgraded to 512 MB. It does not include a built-inhard disk or solid-state drive, but
Uses an SD card for booting and long-term storage.
This project uses regulated 5V; 1A power supply. A 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
