Aim:
The goal of this research is to develop mobile robot and software systems to support the firemen, police, and rescue agencies with reconnaissance, site evaluation, and human detection.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The working principle of the module is explained in 2 units, they are
1. Controlling unit
2. Robotic module
CONTROLLING UNIT
The controlling unit is responsible for controlling all the operation done in the robotic module. The movement of robot is controlled by four switches on controlling unit. It has 4 push button switches connected directly to the transmitter, which are responsible for movement and direction control of robotic module each switch will control one motor.
Where ever the robotic module goes it sends real time video and audio information of the particular environment .The robotic module has day vision camera with built in micro phone which sends video and audio information to the controlling unit .the controlling unit has receiver (operates at 2.4 GHz) with tuner and it is directly connected to the computer to view the real time video with audio, which helps rescue team to know the surrounding environment of the robotic module.
After obtaining the information about the target next function is to decide whether the target is enemy or victim. This can be done by visualizing the video provided by the camera. The robotic module has audio reception unit. At controlling unit rescuers can directly communicate with trapped victim. For this purpose there is a latching switch to initiate the voice reception unit present on robot which is connected to the transmitter through ground driver circuit.
If the target acquired is enemy or a terrorist, then we can fire on target through the firing unit. We are using laser as firing unit in this proto type. To initiate this operation there is latching switch on the controlling unit which is connected to transmitter through ground driver circuit. Here 5V power supply is used to power all the circuits in the controlling unit. The IC 7805 is used to provide regulated power supply to controlling unit.
ROBOTIC MODULE
The robotic module consists of microcontroller, driving units, night vision camera, firing module (LASER), audio receiver unit and trans-reception unit. The block diagram of robotic module
This is a multipurpose unmanned ground vehicle used for surveillance purpose. In this section we firstly discuss about the receiver fallowed by decoder which is responsible for receiving all the commands from the controlling station. After receiving commands it sends that commands to its respective sections.
If the user wants to move the vehicle he sends command through controlling unit for the robotic module containing four gear motors to drive the wheels in any specified direction. To drive all the 4 motor we use motor driver circuit, which consists of 2 motor drivers IC L298. Each driver IC will control 2 gear motors.
The robotic module has a day /night vision camera with inbuilt microphone .where ever the robotic module goes it captures real time video and provides audio information of the surrounding environment .It has built in transmitter which directly sends information to the controlling unit at 2.4 GHz through this user can easily guide vehicle and can scan the environment.
