ABSTRACT :
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is a type of industrial control system. In typical industrial automation applications, PLCs are used to communicate between the plant and SCADA. In this paper we are using a low cost micro controller to understand the various control techniques and capabilities of SCADA and implement them in real time. A simple temperature control scheme is developed using ATMEL AT89S52 micro controller and industry standard SCADA software .We make use of protocol which is an industry standard communication protocol to set up a temperature control system which collects real time temperature data, processes the data and performs the desired control action. Major contribution of the paper is in developing library for communication between micro controller and SCADA and implementing control algorithms such as ON/OFF and proportional controller on data obtained in real time. Thus this paper presents a low cost automation scheme which can be easily extended for more complicated control schemes including wireless control. The project has been developed as first step towards a project on pipeline leakage detection scheme using wireless sensor network.
Introduction:
In the past system we need to check each and every parameters manually and then we need to control the parameters manually. In case of industries we need to monitor the humidity, temperature and any leakage in gas. If any of the quantities are found to be more than normal then necessary measures are taken and keep those values in control otherwise they will result in harm to the industries.
In our proposed system, we are implementing the SCADA concept to make all these process a automatic one. By using SCADA we can monitor these data continuously and controls these quantities by switching on the motors which is connected to the controller through relay. If any of these quantities is above the threshold value then the relay automatically switches ON the motor.also the buzzer will gives the alert.
BLOCK DIAGRAM OPERATION :
ADC- convert the analog sensor values from the sensors to digital values
TEMPERATURE SENSOR- senses the temperature and ON the exhaust fan when the temperature is above normal
GAS LEAKAGE-When there is a leakage in the gas the carbon di-oxide will be pumped out.
LCD- Display the values from the sensor.
BUZZER- Gives the alert when there is abnormality.
ADVANTAGES :
The full process is automatic.
Reliability is high due to the efficient controllers.
We can monitor 24*7 easily with out much effort.
DISADVANTAGES :
Need of human labour to monitor these quantities.
Humans cant be able to monitor 24*7 so accidents may happen.
APPLICATIONS :
Can be used to monitor industries.
Used for automation of the equipment's.
