Removing Gaussian Noise from Image Using Impulse Detector
Abstract
Noise is the main drawback of transmission and reception. In the transmission noise is added due to system and atmosphere so that the quality of images decreases before applying image analysis processes. Noise should be removed while keeping the fine detail of the image intact. A local image statistic is introduced for identifying noise pixels in image corrupted with Gaussian noise of random values. The statistical values qualify how different in intensity the particular pixels are from their similar neighbours. We continue to demonstrate how the statistic may be incorporated into a filter designed to remove Gaussian noise. The result is a new filter capable of reducing Gaussian noise from noisy images effectively, which performs remarkably well, both in terms of quantitative measures of signal restoration and qualitative judgements of image quality. Our approach is extended to automatically remove any mix Gaussian noise.
