Planetary gear trains are one of the main subdivisions of the simple epicyclic gear train family. The epicyclic gear train family in general has a central “sun” gear which meshes with and is surrounded by planet gears. The outermost gear, the ring gear, meshes with each of the planet gears. The planet gears are held to a cage or carrier that fixes the planets in there orbit relative to each other.
Laws Of Planetary Transmission
When the internal gear and carried pinion and free to rotate at the same time, the pinion always follow the same direction as the internal gear.
The sun gear always rotates opposite carrier pinion gear rotation.
When the planet carrier is the output, its always follows the direction of the input gear member
When the planet carrier is the input, the output gear always follows the carrier direction.
CONCLUSION
AGV increases the initial cost though it reduces labour cost as the man power is minimized
The carrying cost is reduced when compared to conveyer belt in the manufacturing system.
The AGV is fragile so the maintenance should be taken care. Mainly in battery management, navigation components (tapes, wires, laser transmitter and receiver) must be taken care.
The advantages of the AGV is far shadow than disadvantages and hence it is concluded that ina mass production factory with large area, a AGV will definitely increase productivity and decrease expenditure.
