File system
A system for organizing directories and files, generally in terms of how it is implemented in the disk operating system.
It used to maintain the physical location of the computer file

Resilient File System
(ReFS)
ReFS is the newly engineered next generation file system
ReFS is first introduced windows server 2012
ReFS is also known as Photogon
ReFS is built on almost 20-year-old NTFS file system
ReFS uses a subset of features from NTFS
ReFS is designed to maintain backward compatibility with its older counterpart
ReFS have a built in mechanism that provide self healing.
In windows 8 ,we cannot convert data between NTFS and ReFS
We cannot boot from ReFS in windows server 8
ReFS does not used in removable media or drives
Windows server 2012

Scrubber
One of the new pieces to ReFS is the scrubber process
The scrubber process that runs in the background,
The scrubber process scanning ReFS volumes looking for errors
The scrubber checks metadata and Integrity Stream for each file to watch for problems
Integrity Streams use a checksum process to write any file changes to a different location.
We can also mark individual files with FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NO_SCRUB_DATA
conclusion
Microsoft is finally starting to replace the New Technology File System (NTFS)
And Microsoft introduce a new file system
A next generation file system named RESILIENT FILESYSTEM
Resilient File System (ReFS) is a new local file system
Now ReFS will implemented only on the windows8 server
