ABSTRACT
Wireless Temperature Transmission is a process based on the principle of Data Acquisition System. This system is designed to help the user to monitor the data from a distant source and transmit it wirelessly to a receiver station where it can be analyzed and/or suitably controlled. The idea of wireless communication is used because in today’s world, in our day to day life there is a need of small unobtrusive monitoring devices that can quantify every aspect of a systems performance in real time.
This system consists of two parts. First part consists of the transmitter circuit. The transmitter circuit has a temperature sensor which will sense the temperature which is an analog parameter and convert it into an equivalent voltage form, which is then amplified and given to the analog to digital converter. The RF transmitter module with the help of serial encoder transmits the digital equivalent of the sensed temperature. The second part is the receiver circuit. The received data is given to the microcontroller through decoder for processing and the exactly sensed temperature is being displayed on the LCD screen which accepts the data from the microcontroller.
INTRODUCTION
As we enter the age of wireless communications pervading our everyday lives and an unquenchable thirst for information, the dream of small unobtrusive monitoring devices that can quantify every aspect of a systems performance in real time is becoming a reality. Today’s age is a jet age everybody wants the work done faster in less time. People have to reach various limits in striving to achieve the goal. Therefore everybody wants their work to be done by an automated device. DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM is a setup which performs the necessary industrial functions which save time, labor and money.
In our project we have augmented the idea of a DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM and WIRELESS COMMUNICATION to develop a WIRELESS DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM that can monitor the data from a distant source and transmit it wirelessly to a receiver station where it can be analyzed and/or suitably controlled. It is a system which will enhance the quality of the work. In almost every industry, the use of this system is advantageous.
With further modifications the system can still be enhanced. The pressure sensors, fire detectors, smoke detectors, short circuit detection circuits can also be added. Our project tells how actually the system works, and what makes it work.
POWER SUPPLY
The above circuit diagram of power supply shows the use two ICs 7812(IC1) and 7805 (IC2) for obtaining the required voltages of 12v and 5 v regulated power supply. The AC mains voltage 230V will be stepped down by the transformer T1, rectified by bridge B1 and filtered by capacitor C1 to obtain a steady DC level.
The transformer used here is a 12-0-12v transformer. The bridge rectifier consists of four diodes IN4007. The filter capacitor used in this circuit is of the value 2200uf. The IC1 (7812) regulates this voltage to obtain a steady 12V DC. The output of the IC1 (7812) will be regulated by the IC2 (7805) to obtain a steady 5V DC at its output. In this way both 12V and 5V regulated DC output voltages are obtained.
Such a circuit is very useful in cases when we need two DC voltages for the operation of a circuit. By varying the type number of the IC1 and IC2, various combinations of output voltages can be obtained.
