Abstract
It is a general belief in many cultures that role of woman is to build and maintain homely affairs and rearing children and in those days women faced many social problems. Since the turn of century, women status in India has been changing due to growing industrialization, globalization and social legislations. Perception and role of women in present India are formed by traditions. The economic change implicates societal alterations, which determines in conflicts. The nature and role of women in the society is presented by great heterogeneity, divergence and multiple paradoxical appearing phenomenon as India itself. Women are backbone of the Indian society and infrastructure. There are various new dimensions which women emerged in recent years globally. Women today share the podium with men in all fields. The status of women in Modern India is a sort of a paradox. The modern Indian women have honed their skills and jumped into a battlefield of life fighting against social restrictions emotional ties, religious boundaries and cultural clutches. Now women have adorned high offices in India including that of the President, Prime Minister and speaker of Lok Sabha and others. Women are also willing to take up business and contribute to the Nation’s growth. This paper investigate whether the status of women in Modern Indian society regarding Equality, Education, Health, Employment, Marriage and Family life, rare and gender. Religion and culture is maintained or deteriorated. It also explores that as the society is developed in 21st century the position and respect of women is deteriorated after so many constitutional provisions what are the factors behind it. In India, during 2013, a total 3,09,546 cases of crime against women was reported which indicates a total raise of 26.7% compared to 2012. The present study is an attempt to critically analyze the status of women in present society where women are provided with all rights, reservations and equality. This research is assessment to understand how innovations have improved women’s well being, empowered women and advanced gender equality. This paper also talks about the cut throat competition given by women to the men of the country. It gives importance on the position of women in various fields like family social and work situation life. This paper emphasis on number of women in total workforce, social and other fields what they are participants. It is a high times that the Govt. should make policy reforms for increasing the ability of women to participate in the labour force, creation of women’s business ownerships to facilitate effective women’s entrepreneur to develop noteworthy and other valuable web based and collaborative tools for societal development and promotion of leadership qualities. This paper investigate whether the status of women in modern Indian society regarding equality, health, employment, marriage and family life, rare and gender, religion and culture is maintained or deteriorated. It also explores society is developed in 21st century the position and respect of women is deteriorated after so many constitutional provisions what are the factors behind it. This paper presents the findings of some research in the social, political and economic role of women and their contribution in socio-political and economic development. She is companion of man, gifted with equal mental faculty, a protector and provider the embodiment of love and affection with the dawn of freedom particularly during India’s national struggle the position of women took a turn for better.
