Most famous for producing motorcycles.
They also produced bicycles, stationary engines, and even rifle parts for the “Royal Small Arms Factory” in Enfield, UK

1851- GEORGE TOWNSEND set up his needle making mill named GIVRY WORKS in REDDICH,UK
BONE SHAKER was the first cycle
launched by GEORGE and his team.
GIVRY WORKS was growing rapidly,when TOWNSEND suddenly got up himself into financial trouble.
November 1891 R.W. Smith & Albert Eadie(financiers) took control of Townsend's GIVRY WORKS.
They renamed the GIVRY WORKS into “The Eadie Manufacturing Company Ltd”
Soon, they got a profitable contract of supplying Rifle parts to the Royal Small Arms Factory.
To celebrate the contract, Eadie and Smith decided to call their new design of bicycle the “Enfield”
