DESIGN PARAMETERS
(i) BOILER
Balanced draft, radiant, dry bottom, single drum, natural circulation,
vertical water tube type, construction with skin casing and a single reheat
system. Steam generating capacity 375 T/hr at a pressure of 139 kg/cm2
(abs) and a steam temperature of 540oC with reheat to 540 oC.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF BOILER OF 2X110 MW PANKI THERMAL POWER STATION :
The steam Generating Unit is designed to meet the nominal
requirements of 105 MW turbo generator set, the unit is designed for a
max. Continuous rating of 375 t/hr at a pressure of 139 Kg/Cm2 (abs) and
a steam temp of 5400C with reheat to 5400C. The reheated steam flow at
MCR is 324 t/hr. The feed water temp. at MCR is 2400C.
The unit is a balanced draft, radiant, dry bottom; single drum,
natural circulation, vertical water tube type, construction with skin casing,
and a single reheat system.
The furnace is arranged for dry ash discharge and is fitted with
burners located at the four corners. Each corner burner comprises coal,
vapour, oil and secondary air compartments.
Boiler drum & drum internals:-
The boiler drum is made of alloy steel plate of 87 mm thick and
has dia of 1800 mm.
The function of drum internals is to separate water from the steam
generated in the furnace walls and to reduce the dissolved solid content in
the steam below the prescribed limit.
The drum internals consist of feed distributing pipes, below-down
collector pipe, turbo separators, screen dryers and other separating
devices to minimize the carryover.
Water Wall
The seamless water wall tubes are welded to the bottom and top
headers by means of stubs. The top headers are connected to the boiler
drum by means of tubes which are welded on to it by means of stubs.
Safety valves:-
The boiler is equipped with 2 spring loaded safety valves mounted
on the drum, 2 spring loaded safety valves mounted on super heater
outlet, One electrostatic relief valve mounted on super heater outlet
header,
2spring loaded safety valves mounted on cold reheat pipe at
reheater inlet and 2 spring loaded safety valves mounted on hot reheat
line at reheater outlet.
