ABSTRACT
Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) is a technique for high data rate uplink transmission in cellular technology. It satisfies the demand of requiring higher data rate. This requirement of high data rate results in significant inter-symbol interference for single carrier systems. This paper presents a precoding scheme namely Tomlinson-Harashima precoding for uplink SC-FDMA systems. Precoding is a way of reducing inter symbol interference as possible.
LITERATURE REVIEW
[1] Hyung.G.Myung ,Junsung Lim and David J.Goodman,Polytechnic University, “Single Carrier FDMA for Uplink Wireless Transmission”,IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine Sept.2006.
This paper deals with SC-FDMA systems and performance comparison with OFDMA.
LITERATURE REVIEW
[2] Hyung.G.Myung, “Introduction to Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access”,EUSIPCO 2007.
In this paper, Author introduces the uplink transmission scheme and its basic features.
LITERATURE REVIEW
[3] Mohamed Noune and Andrew Nix, University of Bristol, “Frequency-Domain Precoding for Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access”,IEEE Communications Magazine June2009.
In this paper, Authors propose the implementation of Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding and PAPR performance for SC-FDMA is done. Then comparison with uncoded SC-FDMA is also done.
MOTIVATION
SC-FDMA has drawn great attention as an alternative to OFDMA.
As it meets the demand for higher data rate requirement ,significant inter symbol interference occurs.
To minimize Inter Symbol Interference as possible.
SC-FDMA
A technique for high data rate uplink communication.
Modified form of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access(OFDMA).
DFT-SPREAD/DFT-PRECODED OFDMA.
Similar performance and essentially the same over-all complexity as OFDMA.
Advantage of SC-FDMA over OFDMA is that it has lower peak-to-average power ratio.
PAPR greatly benefits the transmit power efficiency.
Reduces the complexity as well as cost of transmitting equipment.
WORK DONE
Main advantage of using SC-FDMA is that it provides lower peak to average power ratio compared to OFDMA.
Simulate the performance comparison of SC-FDMA to that of OFDMA.
CONCLUSION & FUTURE WORKS
A new technique that meet the requirements of high data rate is presented.
In future my work will concentrate more on the precoding section and further modification.
