SPACE BASED AUGMENTATION FOR GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION
Space based augmentation means augmentation of signal in space.
G.N.S.S(Global Navigation Satellite System)
G.N.S.S can send and receive signals.
Seminar focus on an augmentation system called Wide Area Augmentation System(W.A.S.S)
W.A.A.S
W.A.A.S include wide reference station(W.R.S) & wide area master station(W.M.S).
Here user send a signal to G.N.S.S.
By using G.P.S service the signal given to reference station.
Wide reference station send this data to wide area master station.
AUGMENTATION SYSTEMS1)ORBIT DETERMINATION OF G.P.S AND GEO SATELLITES.
Orbit determination is done with kalman filters.
Kalman filter is an algorithm which uses series of measurement.
It is observed over time, noise & other inaccuracies.
It has prediction phase & updation phase
2)IONOSPHERIC DELAY ESTIMATIONAND MULTIPATH CALCULATION
A.IONOSPHERIC DELAY ESTIMATION
Here ionospheric correction computation algorithm is used.
It enables the computation of ionospheric delays.
This is applicable for G.P.S &W.R.S.
These delays are broadcast by a message
APPLICATION
European Union’s European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).
Japan’s Multifunctional Transport Satellite Augmentation System (MSAS).
Canada’s Canadian WAAS (CWAAS).
China’s Satellite Navigation Augmentation System (SNAS) and
India’s GPS and GEO Augmented Navigation (GAGAN).
CONCLUSION
Space based augmentation system help the user to get accurate position.
Different Augmentation process is done in the W.M.S to calculate the correct position.
Thus increases the accuracy and integrity of G.N.S.S
