Objective
The aim of our project is to implement image data compression using KRLE algorithm on embedded ARM processor
Introduction
Compression is the technique used to reduce the size of data in order to save space or transmission time.
Compression is performed by a program that uses a formula or algorithm to determine how to compress or decompress data
Existing system
There are many compression algorithms available .
The simplest and the one from which our algorithm or project is developed is RLE
Run-length encoding (RLE) is a very simple form of data compression in which runs of data (that is, sequences in which the same data value occurs in many consecutive data elements) are stored as a single data value and count, rather than as the original run.
K-RLE
A new algorithm named K-RLE is proposed based on RLE in order to improve the compression results with different statistics where a parameter K is a precision.
