1STUDENTS MARK.docx (Size: 2.65 MB / Downloads: 42)
ABSTRACT
The project entitled STUDENTS MARK LIST has been developed in NETBEANS IDE 6.5.1(JAVA) as front end tool and MYSQL as back end tool. This Students Mark List deals with maintenance of students mark details. The user only who has working in the Library has handled all these processes.
As the package is developed in Net Beans with windows environment, Graphical User Interface (GUI) is highlighted which is very pleasing to the users.
INSERT RECORD:
This module contains a table Student Roll No, Student Name and Marks obtained. When we enter all these details it will be inserted in mysql table in back end and shows a dialog box that the record has be inserted.
DISPLAYING RECORDS:
This module contains a table with columns like Roll No, Name and Marks. When the button show is clicked it shows all Roll No, Name and Marks which are inserted.
SEARCHING A RECORD:
This module contains fields like Roll no, Name and Result. We have to enter the Roll no or the Name of a student whom we want to search and when we click search button it will show the all its detail.
GRADE SHEET :
When the marks of a student is inserted and when calculate button is clicked the Grade is calculated and displayed in the table.
OPERATING SYSTEM - Windows 7
Windows 7 is the latest release of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, net books, tablet PCs, and media center PCs. Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009, and reached general retail availability on October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7's server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, was released at the same time. Windows 7 includes a number of new features, such as advances in touch and handwriting recognition, support for virtual hard disks, improved performance on multi-core processors, improved boot performance, Direct Access, and kernel improvements. Windows 7 adds support for systems using multiple heterogeneous graphics cards from different vendors (Heterogeneous Multi-adapter), a new version of Windows Media Center, a Gadget for Windows Media Center, improved media features, the XPS Essentials Pack and Windows Power Shell being included, and a redesigned Calculator with multiline capabilities including Programmer and Statistics modes along with unit conversion for length, weight, temperature, and several others. Many new items have been added to the Control Panel, including Clear Type Text Tuner, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Location and Other Sensors, Credential Manager, Biometric Devices, System Icons, and Display. Windows Security Center has been renamed to Windows Action Center (Windows Health Center and Windows Solution Center in earlier builds), which encompasses both security and maintenance of the computer. Ready boost on 32bit editions now supports up to 256 Gigabytes of extra allocation. Windows 7 also supports images in Raw image format through the addition of Windows Imaging Component-enabled image decoders, which enables raw image thumbnails, previewing and metadata display in Windows Explorer, plus full-size viewing and slideshows in Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Media Center.
MySQL
MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases. It is named after developer Michael Widenius daughter, My. The SQL phrase stands for Structured Query Language.
The MySQL development project has made its source code available under the terms of the GNU General Public License, as well as under a variety of proprietary agreements. MySQL was owned and sponsored by a single for-profit firm, the Swedish company MySQL AB, now owned by Oracle Corporation.
Free-software-open source projects that require a full-featured database management system often use MySQL. For commercial use, several paid editions are available, and offer additional functionality.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project consist of three frames which is used for various purpose.First frame acts an entrance to the project and gives a gist of the project.Second frame takes the information like the Roll No , Name and Result from the user and stores in MySQL Which is used as the backend. Third frame is designed to enable the user to insert subject wise marks and to calculate it. When the button Show clicked it retrieves data from mysql table.
System Design
System design goes through two phases of development: Logical design and Physical design. Logical design is concerned with reviewing the current physical system, preparing input specifications, preparing output specifications, preparing edit, security and control specifications, specifying the implementation plan, preparing a logical design walkthrough of the information flow, input, output, controls and implementation plan and reviewing benefits, costs, target date and system constraints. Physical design is concerned with specifying the input and output media, designing the database, specifying backup procedures, designing physical information flow through the system and physical design walkthrough, preparing a conversion schedule and a target date, determining training procedure, courses and timetable, devising a test and implementation plan, specifying new hardware and software and updating benefits, costs, conversion date and system constraints.
Design of Output
Computer output is the most important and direct source of information to the user. Efficient, intelligible output design should improve the system’s relationships with the user and help in decision making. When designing output the following should be accomplished. Determine what information to present. Decide whether to display, print or speak and select the output medium. Arrange the presentation of information in an acceptable format.
Design of Form
The form design is an important part of design. A form is the physical carrier of data. In designing a form attention is given to proper identification and wording readability and use, composition and layout, order of data items and clarity. A well-designed form with clearly stated captions should be self-instructing.
Database Design
A great many systems whether on large or small computer systems, interact with databases that span multiple applications. Because of the importance of database, its design should be management fully established and monitored. The details to be considered are Data needed for the database Actions that will affect the database Methods for interaction with the database Security of the data.
Design of Control
A system design should offer the means for detecting and handling errors. A system must be designed by assuming that mistakes will be made in entering data or in requesting the performance of certain functions. Input controls provide ways to ensure the only authorized users access the system Guarantee that transactions are acceptable Validate the data for accuracy Determine whether any necessary data have been omitted.
