TRAFFIC IN INDIA………..
Traffic congestion on inadequate road infrastructure is a daily reality of India's urban centers. Slow speeds and idling vehicles produce, per trip, 4 to 8 times more pollutants and consume more carbon footprint fuels, than free flowing traffic.
Railway in India……
Accidents are very common in railways. We regularly come across the news of railway accidents in media. Often it is derailment of train, sometimes; it is head-on collision between two trains, etc. which frequently catch the headlines.
Accidents may occur due to some mechanical failure, but often they occur due to human error.
AN IDEAL SOLUTIION
Follows the existing roads- but does not take road space- and be as flexible as a bus
Have rail based mass transit capacity, same as existing rail metro
Does not divide city while providing integration along its alignment
Be derailment and collision proof- with NO CAPSIZING of coaches- so that there can never be loss of life
SKYBUS METRO
The new technological solution, in terms of Sky Bus Metro is based on the concept of Sky wheels presented in 1989 at World Congress for Railway Research.
Sky station
Unlike conventional mass transit systems, Sky Bus needs smaller stations.
Service is at every 2 to 3 minute thereby there is virtually no waiting time for passengers.
Completely automated with access control by means of electronic prepaid cards.
Stations act as access facilities only and not as passenger holding areas.
Traversers arrangement at terminals
There are no points and crossings. The traverser is the system which automatically shifts the sky bus units for balancing the loads/ changing routes too as well as shift units to depot lines etc. Proven technologies and a very simple solution by merely re-engineering the components constitute Sky Bus:
Anti-collision device……
Based on ‘Radio communication’, ‘Microprocessors’ and ‘Global Positioning System (GPS)’ technology, a Team of Konkan Railway in 90 days produced a prototype of Anti-Collision Device (ACD) which, when mounted on two approaching trains, would enable them to assess accurately each other’s course and initiate an ‘automatic’ braking action, in case they were perceived to be on ‘collision risk’
Conclusion….
The Sky Bus metro is one single technology which can change the face of our cities, take out almost 10 million road vehicles in the cities and make the cities livable, improving quality of life and attract and sustain economic activity to generate wealth.
