INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the suspension to reduce shock load’s that act on the car while providing optimal wheel contact when operating under dynamic condition stop, the suspension must provide enough wheel travel to dampen the impact imposed on the vehicle. System should good manufacturability and adjustable various attachment.
SOLID BEAM AXLE SUSPENSION
Going in chronological order the first mass produced front suspension design was the solid beam axle .
Just as it sounds, in the beam axle setup both of the front wheel are connected each other by solid axle.
New development in spring, roll bars and shock have kept the solid axle practical for some application.
SWING AXLE SUSPENSION
It is the name suggest set up so that the axle pivot about the location some where near the center of the car and allow’s the wheel to travel up and down through there respective arc’s.
This system was eventually adopted for rear suspesion as can found on the old beetle.
DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION
A single wishbone or A-arm can also use in various other suspension type such as macpherson strut and chapman strut.
When the vehicle is turn a body roll result in positive chamber gain on the inside the wheel.
