DESIGN BASIS REPORT PERTAINS TO VIADUCT PORTION OF KOCHI METRO PHASE-I SCOPE : Comprises of simply supported precast, Pre-tensioned twin U-Girder with RCC substructure and Bored cast in-situ Pile Foundation. Standard Gauge of 1435mm. C/C distance between two tracks approved by SOD of KMRL. I-Girder/ Balanced cantilever/Steel composite girder have been proposed at crossover / turnout/railway crossing. Clearance for road traffic : As per IRC specification. TRACK GEOMETRY, TRACK STRUCTUTRE AND ROLLING STOCK: Salient features of the alignment, track and rolling stock for design of the viaduct are listed in this design basis report on the basis of contract. SOD has been used as per discuusion with DMRC since SOD for kochi metro is under preparation. SOD is referred to SOD of banglore Metro. And correspondaence with DMRC and vice-versa: Gauge : Standard gauge 1435mm. Structure Gauge : As directed by DMRC, the structure gauge shall be as per SOD.
