Abstracts: • We had worked in diesel shop and assembly shop. • In diesel shop we had worked on generator engine. • In generator engine there occurred a pitting problem in linear. • This problem can be solve by two techniques 1. Top overhauling 2. Major overhauling • We had used top overhauling method to solve pitting problem. • In assembly shop we h ad worked on rpm reduction gear box. • In rpm reduction gear box we had reduced rpm from 1200 to 760. • This 1200 rpm is produced from engine and we had reduced it to 760 rpm which is required for compressor by using this rpm reduction gear box. • To reduce the rpm we had reduce the diameter of input gear compared to the output gear by this if input gear complete 1.5 rotation then output gear complete 1 rotation. • We had also used nj bearing which is also called shape aligning bearing which aligns itself due to the fast rotation of gears. • As due to its shape align nature it has a long life and can’t be break even if the load is applied on the bearing.
