Abstracts: Crankshaft is large volume production component with a complex geometry. It is a component of an engine which converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotary motion of crank. An attempt is made in this project work to study static and dynamic analysis of a crankshaft for a single cylinder 4 stroke internal combustion engine and also optimize design parameters of same crankshaft. The validation model of crankshaft is coupled with statically and dynamically result of Von misses stress and shear stress are within the limits and design formulation and optimization of crankshaft parameters and validation through other optimization techniques to investigate weight and cost reduction opportunities. Therefore project work consist of three major section: 1) Static analysis 2) Dynamic analysis 3) Optimization of weight and cost reduction and ultimately increase efficiency of engine.
