Stress, twisting torque Analysis of main shaft loads in all gear head lathe
ABSTRACT
Lathe is the father of all machines. In this lathe spindle is the main part of all. Total Accuracy of the machine depends on the spindle. But during working spindle will leads to damage due to overload .so this damage will leads to stress and twisting torque .this stress and twisting can be calculated by Ansys and made optimized design by changing material property and spindle design
This paper reports a study carried out using 3-D modeling and finite element analysis for spindle.Using unigraphics as a 3-D modeling software the 3-D model of the various tyes of spindle created. Using Neutral file format the model was imported into Ansys.
Here the solid model was converted into Finite Element model. Boundary conditions such as maximum load of the plate, material properties, shear stress, twisting torque can be find out from the spindle
