Work was divided in four parts. In the first part, Synthesis of styryls based on substituted 1,4-diethyl- 1,2,3,4- tetrahydroquinoxalines, some novel mono and bis styryl dyes were synthesized, characterized and evaluated for various spectral properties. These dyes were applied on polyester fabric and various properties of the dyed fabric were studied. In second part, Synthesis of novel Thiophene bridged donoracceptor molecules, some donor - acceptor molecules with 4-(N,N-diethylaminophenyl) as donor moiety were readily prepared in good yields and purity. These molecules were characterized and various spectral properties thereof were evaluated. In third part, Synthesis of novel fluorescent compounds some novel solid state fluorescent azo dyes, which are rarely reported in the literature were synthesized along with highly fluorescent 8- (Substituted) -1,4-diethyl -1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido [2,3-g]quinoxalines.
