Quinoxaline are commercially important as agrochemical, herbicides, fungicides, antagonist and antibiotics. Several patents describe the synthesis and technical importance of quinoxaline as cyanine dyes, azo dyes, reactive dyes, hair dyes and pigments. Fluorescent dyes are currently of great interest in various applications. It is very important to design and develop new fluorescent chromophores which have special properties as new dye materials.Styryl dyes attract special attention on account of their strong fluorescence. Quinoxaline based styryl dyes are well known in the literature with strong fluorescence but with average thermal stability. Thermal stability of the fluorescent dye is an important requirement for many high tech applications. As a part of the study to enhance the fluorescence characteristics and thermal stability we have synthesized mono styryl dyes based on substituted Thiazolo[4,5-b]quinoxaline which are highly fluorescent and thermally stable to be used in high tech applications.
