Abstracts: Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is one important non-traditional machining processes. It is one of the most successful, practical and profitable non-conventional machining processes for machining newly developed high strength alloys with high degree of dimensional accuracy and economical cost of production. Machining of electrically conductive material irrespective of its hardness, by the application of thermal energy, is one of the prime advantages of electrical discharge machining process. Carbon nano tube is having high Mechanical and Electrical Properties specifically High Electrical Conductivity. By using this property the multi wall carbon nano tube mixed with electrolytic solution in EDM process to analysis the surface characteristics like surface roughness in AISI D3 Tool Steel work piece materials which is very much used in tooling applications requiring a high degree of accuracy in hardening, such as draw dies, forming rolls, powder metal tooling and blanking and forming dies.
