Abstracts: An objective of the present dissertation work is to design and analysis of a helical coil Heat exchanger which is use for sorption compression system. The Dissertation is about developing an experimental setup of helical coil heat exchanger and use Xenon as a fluid for the estimation of heat transfer. The experimental results are compared with the CFD results using CFD package, ANSYS CFX 12.0 Enhancement in heat transfer due to helical coils has been reported by many researchers. Helically coil can be found in many applications including food processing, nuclear reactors, compact heat exchangers, heat recovery systems, chemical processing, low value heat exchange, and medical equipment Helical coils are very alluring for various processes such as heat exchangers. Due to the extensive use of helical coils in these applications, knowledge about the pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics are very important. The results indicate that the temperature distribution in the cross section will be asymmetric. So, the temperature variation needs to be known for different configurations of the coil
