Abstracts: The project is on “MANUALLY OPERATED WINCH (MOBILE CRANE)” deals with material handling of various industrial loads. It is considered as basic material handling equipment for small as well as medium scale industries. Designing, calculation as well as selection of various parts of winch such as worm and worm wheel, drum. Lever, hook, wire-rope, pulley, shaft, bearing and frame has been carried out. Special concern is also shown for the stability of the frame. Rollers are also provided for the mobility of the winch. Hence, the values obtained from designing and calculation have been checked for tangential, dynamic, static loading, heat dissipation , wear concentration, compressive stress and strain, shear stress and strain, thermal stress, impact stress ,torsional as well as bending stresses. AutoCAD Drawings and solidworks modeling of respective components is to be carried out. As a result, winch machine we had fabricated with expected outcome of weight lifting capacity up to 1 tone.
