Abstracts: Generally flexible pavement is faced with problems of cracks, rutting, shoving, depression and corrugation during its period of service due to various reasons. In this report flexible pavement failure is defined in terms of decreasing serviceability caused by the development of cracks and ruts (Prof.A.K.Gupta, IOSR Journal of Mechanical & Civil Engineering (IOSR-JMCE), ISSN: 2278-1684, PP: 09-15). Before going into the maintenance strategies, we must look into the causes of failure of bituminous pavements. Failures of bituminous pavements are caused due to many reasons or combination of reasons. Application of correction in the existing surface will enhance the life of maintenance works as well as that of strengthening layer. Various tests were carried out with industrial bi products added to bitumen. Maintenance of pavement was done with fly ash, plastic added to bitumen and resulted in increasing strength of pavement. Bitumen penetration test showed improvement of 52 mm which was 40mm conventionally, and with geo polymer and bitumen it showed 74mm penetration. While performing ductility test with fly ash added to bitumen, results showed 37.23mm while it was 72.03mm conventionally, when geo polymer was added to bitumen, result was 75.77mm. For increasing bearing capacity of base soil, we provided piece of waste conveyer belts. CBR value showed increment of 35% from 30%. So by doing maintenance with such method will result in increasing serviceability life of pavement and waste materials can be disposed off.
