Abstracts: Our project “DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF WORM & WORMWHEEL GEAR DRIVE” mainly focuses on the mechanical design and analysis of gearbox as transmit the power and live long life. We are work as our semester project with a view to get familiar with the technologies as well as application of theories into practical work done by industries. Chapter 1 includes with the short history of the wormgear drive, types of the gear and nomenclature of gear. Chapter 2 gives the information about the literature review of the optimized design, methodology and manufacturing development. Chapter 3 introduces the aim of project and types of problem occur in the industry. Chapter 4 includes with the types of materials used by the Laxmi Transmission as well as other external companies. On the basis of this material we can select the appropriate material for worm and Wormgear. Chapter 5 shows the design steps of the worm and wormgear drive. From this chapter we can find out the dimensions of the worm and wormgear. Chapter 6 give the information about analysis, types of software used for the analysis and steps of ANSYS software. Chapter 7 give the result comparison with existing material used in industry and on the basis on the result comparison, conclusion will be given. Chapter 8 introduces the future innovation on the Wormwheel gear drive to increase its efficiency as well as life of worm gear.
