The ABCs of ADR - A Dispute Resolution Glossary
This site has a good overview of a wide variety of approaches which in the U.S. are referred to as ADR, or "alternative dispute resolution." These include mediation, arbitration, and similar processes. Descriptions of these together with a large number of varieties are given here.
The Alternative Newsletter
This is one of the best summaries of current news in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution in the U.S. New books and articles are reviewed, conferences and training programs are announced, as, is a wealth of other information about the field as it exists in the U.S. Non-U.S. readers will find the book reviews most useful.

This is our main website. It has much more material on conflict and alternative dispute resolution than appears in this online training program, including 100s of full text working papers, abstracts of key books, lists of conflict resolution resources, training opportunities, and links to other conflict resolution organizations..

This site has legal information for various countries world-wide, as well as extensive information about the U.S.

This site also has extensive legal information for the U.S. and other countries worldwide.
IGC ConflictNet
ConflictNet is a network of people concerned about conflict and its resolution. The site has news articles and commentary about many of the current serious conflict situations around the world.
INCORE- Initiative on Conflict Resolution and Ethnicity, a Joint Initiative of the University of Ulster and the United Nations University
This site is loaded with information about ethnic conflicts and conflict resolution around the world. The publications and papers section has several good, lengthy papers on peacekeeping, peacemaking, and preventive diplomacy, and the conflict data service has hundreds of sources on these and related topics, organized by country and region. The Ethnic Conflict Research digest has a large number of book reviews relating to ethnic conflict research.
International Relations and Security Network
"The International Relations and Security Network (ISN) is a cooperative initiative to promote free flow of unclassified information in the fields of international relations and security policy. To achieve these aims, ISN develops and promotes high-quality reference services as well as educational modules in the fields concerned. Furthermore, ISN acts as a platform for networking, dialogue, and cooperation within the international security community. The final goal is establishing a system of federated electronic services with decentralized operation but made accessible from a single platform on the Internet." This site has a huge amount of information about intractable conflicts around the world including both primary and secondary sources.
Mediation Information and Resource Center
This is one of the major resource sites on mediation and mediators in the United States.
The Public Involvement Network Library
This has some good case studies and descriptions of strategies for involving the public in decision making processes and avoiding or resolving conflicts with the public over the construction of public or private facilities.
The Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research
The Transnational Foundation is located in Sweden. It has a very useful website, with links to leading world news organizations, as well as many of their own publications.
