Abstracts: The Hydraulic pump transmits mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. This is done by the movement of fluid which is the transmission medium. Hydraulic gear pumps are used in a wide variety of machines, for example agricultural and construction vehicles, to provide flexible power from the engine to lifting gear or ancillary equipment. Hydraulic pumps are mainly classified in two category like Positive Displacement pump and Non Positive displacement pump. Our project is on positive displacement type external gear pump. Main parts of the pumps are body, pair of gear, cover, plate, bush etc. In this type of pump the oil flow from inlet to outlet through gear rotation, gear transmit the oil from inlet to outlet. The CFD analysis of hydraulic pump indicates that there is good conformance between experimental & CFD results. Thus further optimization of pump design may be done using CFD analysis. For the CFD analysis, there is need of solid design of fluid in Solidworks. After that next process in GAMBIT software, in which the different type of grid independent test is carried out. We will run this result in FLUENT software
