Abstracts: During the course of training we participated with various activities of maintenance like steam trap, heat exchanger, turbine, cooling tower and its components at Nitro- Plant, Concentric Nitric Acid (CNA–III) department in Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. Situated at Narmadanagar GIDC, Bharuch During our training period at CNA–III plant, we worked on the cooling tower. We found that the performance of cooling tower was not giving the expected outcome. The reason behind that various factors responsible like, Range, Approach, Wet Bulb Temperature, Cooling water treatment, Drift losses in cooling tower, Profile of axial fan blade, Water flow rate, Relative humidity of air, etc. Due to low performance of cooling tower, the effectiveness cannot be achieved as per design value. In hope to overcome the above mentioned problem, the performance of cooling tower increase by various methods is taken into consideration.
