Abstracts: In our country 70 to 75% electricity is generated by thermal power plant. In thermal power plant mostly non renewable type energy source is used. Seeing the today scenario, energy conservation is most important, for that purpose our Gujarat government is established GEDA (Gujarat energy development agency), work on the Aim, “energy conservation”. Our project Aim is also energy conservation (power saving). Conveyor belt is most reliable and durable component which is used widely in industries like power plant for ash handling plant, construction site, food processing etc. In these application conveyor belt are continuously running so power loss in conveyor belt motor is very high, hence life cycle reduces, maintenance increases and power is also wasted when conveyor belt is not loaded or used. These all problems we can overcome with the help “POWER SAVER CONVEYOR BELT”. Power saver conveyor belt are help full for energy conservation. In our project the power saver conveyor belt made by LDR and IC 555 is used. The LDR is used as start and stop sensors. It gives the start and stop signal respectively to the objects on conveyor belt. According the start and stop signal the conveyor belt motor is work. The controlling of start and stop signals of conveyor belt motor is done by IC 555. When object is at start point, the start sensor gives the signal to the IC 555 and its start the motor. Same as when the object reach at end point the stop sensor gives signal to the IC 555 and its stop the motor, so motor is only work when objects are on the conveyor belt or conveyor belt is loaded. This way conveyor belt is not continuously worked and its life cycle is also increase, maintenance decrease and power saving is also done. In our project one another function is also added to count the no of objects passing through conveyor belt using IC 555 and its display using seven segment displays.
