Brodhead-Garrett (TEC) Model 9001A
System temperatures are
measured by k-type
thermocouples attached to the
outside of the copper tubing,
and insulated with standard
foam pipe wrap.
System pressures are
measured by integrated
gauges, which are calibrated to
read gauge pressure (e.g. psig).
Typical Analyses
Determine cycle state points, generate
thermodynamic diagrams.
• Determine compressor (thermodynamic) efficiency.
• Determine motor/compressor mechanical efficiency.
• Determine COP, compare to theoretical max.
• Perform energy balances on heat exchangers.
• Experiment with system response to variable heat
loads, especially as the different control devices are
utilized.
• Experiment with heat pump operation.
