o PROJECT SUMMARY:-
The following project will be a programmed machine with an 8 bit microcontroller. The project would be designed to be a multi speed moving spy robot. A camera mounted at the top will help the user to observe the activity at target zone from a distance. The Robot would be efficiently wireless controlled so that can be controlled from a distant place within a specified range.
For controlling the robot various modules would be used such as
• Dual-tone multi-frequency signaling (DTMF) with the help of mobile phones
• Infrared module based controlling through TV remote
• Touch pad controlling
• Universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter, (UART) based computer controlling
The camera would be operated on the Symbian based Bluetooth connection. The output will be observable on the computer or a mobile phone. In accordance with the real time output the robot will be controlled accordingly. For driving applications different devices would be mounted at different ports .Also the robot will be equipped with sensors such as digital optical sensors for automatic object avoiding or line following applications.
o TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE PROJECTS: -
8 bit microcontroller based device with Infrared module, communication device cc2500, Touch pad sensor, DTMF module.
o ORIGIN OF THE PROPOSAL: - In various fields of defense and security we need to have a look of a place from a distance. This remote situation handling can be done with the help of a robot. That can be controlled with the help of various module schemes such as infrared, DTMF, touch pad and by computer itself.
o DEFINITION OF THE PROBLEM: - The present equipment with our defense services is although strong enough. But still we can’t ignore the figures of policeman and army officers died in these recent terrorist attacks and at borders.
o OBJECTIVES: - To improve the efficiency of the military operations at borders and enhance the security of the vulnerable places such as airports, city stations etc. Also to provide a handy tool to the security agencies for surveillance.
o WORK PLAN: - During our project the work will be completed in following phases.
1. Studying the condition under which the robot has to work upon.
2. Studying the different modules upon which the robot will work such as
DTMF scheme, Infrared modules, Touch pad etc.
3. Ranging and testing of the camera device and improving the quality of the real time output.
4. Preparing the robot that can be as small in size as possible.
5. Preparing the programming codes upon that the robot will work upon.
6. Fixing the different modules and camera device on the robot.
7. Testing of the robot under the different conditions.
o METHODOLOGY: - The project will turn out to be a Surveillance robo-cam that can be easily controlled with the help of mobile phone signals, infrared devices such as TV remote controls, Touch pad and even a computer. The camera placed on the robot will help to inspect the present situation and hence to plan accordingly. A number of controlling modules help for operations according to the resources available at the moment. And the camera will guide about the path and incoming situation and obstacles with real time approach. The various modules will help the user to control the direction of the robot and its speed. The robot will be an object avoider machine. It will be programmed to move on multispeed according to the choice of user.
o ORGANISATION OF WORK ELEMENT:-
o TIME SCHEDULE: - Total duration is 8-9 months. After sanctioning of the project we will follow the following schedule:
o PROPOSED OUTCOME/ FINDINGS: - An efficient remote handling device with surveillance camera facility. It would be easy to control and efficient working ability.
o DETAILS OF FACILITIES TO BE PROVIDED BY THE INSTITUTION:-
