The main objective of this project is to develop a device for wireless power Transmission. The concept of wireless power transfer was realized by scientist “NICHOLAS TESLA” in 1890’s. Wireless power transfer can make a remarkable change in the field of electrical engineering which eliminates the use of convectional copper cables and current carrying wires.
Based on this concept the project is developed to transfer small amount of power with in small range of distance (2 to 3cm).This small amount of power is given to glow a multi coloured LED as an application.
Transmitting section in the circuit consist of a dc power supply, oscillator and A copper wire which acts as primary coil of inductor. The primary coil of inductor in the transmitter section receives repetitive ac source signal at low frequency of 50hertz from an oscillator and a 6volt dc source is provided to run the oscillator circuit.
Receiver section in the circuit consist of A secondary coil of inductor receives transmitted ac source signal as an induced alternating voltage in the coil and is rectified in the receiver section coverts that ac voltage source to dc voltage source. Finally this rectified dc voltage would be feed to load through a voltage controller section. The diode in the receiver section acts as a filter.
The primary and secondary coils of inductors work on the basis of mutual inductance property for transmission of power from one coil to another without any physical contact between them.
Thus the small amount of dc voltage is given to multi coloured LED which acts as an application in our “transmission using inductive coupling wireless power f or low power applications”.
Advantages:-
Wireless Power Transmission system would completely eliminates the existing high-tension power transmission line cables, towers and sub stations between the generating station and consumers and facilitates the interconnection of electrical generation plants on a global scale. It has more freedom of choice of both receiver and transmitters. Even mobile transmitters and receivers can be chosen for the WPT system. The cost of transmission and distribution become less and the cost of electrical energy for the consumer also would be reduced. The power could be transmitted to the places where the wired transmission is not possible. Loss of transmission is negligible level in the Wireless Power Transmission; therefore, the efficiency of this method is very much higher than the wired transmission. Power is available at the antenna as long as the WPT is operating. The power failure due to short circuit and fault on cables would never exist in the transmission and power theft would be not possible at all.
