Abstract:
The evolution of the hearing aid is highly competitive now days.
This is because electronics can produce something which can make mankind some better than existing technology. Similarly in our paper we are implementing the most efficient VLSI in to Hearing Aid. The feature of VLSI is known to all. Their main advantage is small in size. Here we are producing a tooth using VLSI design. This tooth performs the function of Amplifier, Noise Rectifier, Voice Processor, etc.
Another bud is also placed in the EAR which contains a microphone and a micro speaker. This microphone is connected to the VLSI designed tooth via radio waves and the same for Micro speaker also. This technology looks somewhat odd but the fact is really beneficial .Here we are replacing the external microphone and the amplifier equipment by the VLSI designed Tooth. The process of this Hearing Aid is explained in detail below.
Introduction:
As said in the abstract our hearing aid consist of two instruments namely a 1.EAR BUD and 2.VLSI designed TOOTH. How these two instruments communicate? These two instruments communicate by radio waves having the air filled chamber present between the mouth and the ear. This air space also helps in direct vibration of the 3 bones present inside the ear.
Objective:
We can able to give approximately 80% rectification from deafness using this method .We have kept a VLSI designed tooth so that the person using it won’t feel like having the hearing aid with him. And he need not try to hide anything from others which happens in the case of older versions.
RECEIVER UNIT:
The receiver unit is designed in such a way that it has to receive the input from the microphone, highly sensitive microphone and receiver circuit is used because the waves have to travel in a chamber where the loss can be high. And also the path Is not a straight line the waves has to take few diversions to reach the receiver.
2. VOICE PROCESSOR:
The voice signal of 3-5kz is alone taken for consideration and neglecting other sound for more efficiency. The signal is cover ted in to digital signal and the analyzed. This analog to digital conversion and then converting back to original analog signal is much useful in clarity as well as for performance.
3. AMPLIFIER:
The amplifier is for better clarity and quality, there are chances for message to be lost during the transmission so the signal is amplified and then given to the micro speaker.
TRANSMITTER:
This transmitter is designed in such a way that it has to transform the amplified audio signal to the micro speaker and also it has to transmit the modulated radio frequency to the nerves and bones.
6. BATTERY:
This unit serves as the power source for the entire unit. It is located at the root of the tooth. The power required for the VLSI designed tooth is not much so a lesser voltage is enough. The battery can be replaced even manually by the user himself also by just removing the cap.
