This project presents an IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee) practicable baseband processor including transmitter and receiver-To estimate and compensate carrier phase error at baseband, the receiver allows full digital solution for carrier phase synchronization- An existing packet detection algorithm for spread spectrum communication system is used to estimate large carrier frequency offset.-This project also presents a new decision-feedback algorithm for residue phase error tracking-The proposed receiver achieves system performance as PER = 0.01 at SNR less than 5dB, which is better than standard specifications-The baseband processor was implemented in simple hardware architecture and designed with low power technique. ZigBee is a wireless networking standard that is aimed at remote control and sensor applications which is suitable for operation in harsh radio environments and in isolated locations-With the applications for remote wireless sensing and control growing rapidly it is estimated that the market size could reach hundreds of millions of dollars as early as 2007-This makes ZigBee technology a very attractive proposition for many applications-Zigbee technology is programmed in a chip form and is used in many devices to function automatically-For controlling and monitoring a whole factory unit while sitting in one cabin is possible by using Zigbee technology.
