Abstracts: • While performing a walking inspection of the company, we saw that at the CCP plant, there were several pipe outlets from which condensate was coming out. While inquiring about that we came to know that those were chlorine evaporator’s outlet. • The steam is used to rise the temperature of chlorine is around 120 °C and pressure is 1bar. • There are four numbers of evaporators and total condensate coming out from those evaporators is 1000 liters per hour, and temperature of condensate coming out of this evaporator is around 85 °C. • So this condensate from evaporator is used in cooling tower as cooling water of around 35°C temperature. So it was a clear waste of heat. • So the decision to work out on the recovery of this heat was made and to use it if useful. • Thus, here we had one option that could be implemented on that plant. Designs a system which can store the condensate without much heat loss send it to boiler to regenerate steam from it.
