This document presents a real-time ECG signal acquisition system with the DSP chip TMS320VC5509A as core. Introduce the design of the ECG signal acquisition circuit in detail. The ECG signal is analog filtered and amplified and then converted from analog to digital. Finally, it is displayed on the LCD after a low-pass digital filter in DSP. Data collected from the ECG can truly reflect the health condition of the human heart. The system has advantages of small volume, low power consumption, low cost and real-time processing.
Due to the rapid advancement in technology, scientists and engineers face several challenges in solving biomedical problems; Digital signal processing has become an essential and effective pedagogical approach to solving a problem of detecting arrhythmia conditions selected from a patient's electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. The search for arrhythmia characteristics corresponding to atrial fibrillation (AF), heart rate variability (HRV), etc., of ECG recording has received considerable attention in recent years. Several advanced signal processing techniques have been applied for the detection of cardiac arrhythmias using Fourier transformations, wavelets, artificial neural networks, independent component analysis, etc. The introduction of a simple algorithm for the detection of arrhythmias can be very useful for a better conceptual understanding of signal processing. In this paper, we have discussed simple methods to clean the noise-damped ECG signal and extract the parameters necessary to detect the arrhythmia condition. These simple procedures involve the use of filter techniques, wavelet techniques, peaks and valleys search algorithms, local maxima and minima, etc. to determine R peaks, R-R intervals and QRS amplitude.
