hello,
i want either source code for fingerprint recognition in matlab based on minutiae
OR just the image segmentation code based on ridge segmentation.
I have a code which uses edge filter.

Non-contact fingerprint detection technologies have been developed to solve problems in contact detection techniques because they do not require any contact between a sensor and a finger. While they can solve problems caused by the contact of a finger. In order to overcome these difficulties, a new contactless fingerprint sensor is proposed that captures the image of the fingerprint with the camera. Human footprints are unique. A critical step in automatic fingerprint matching is to reliably extract minutiae from incoming fingerprint images. Here we first used several preprocessing steps in the binary image to improve image quality, followed by minutiae detection, removal of false minutiae and feature extraction. The final step is coincidence of minutiae. The proposed method can be applied to other biometric applications that require a large template for recognition. Fingerprint recognition systems have been widely adopted for user authentication because of their reliable performance and usability compared to other biometric systems. Recently, various types of fingerprint imaging sensors (including optics, solid state, thermal, ultrasound, etc.) have been used in a wide range of forensic and commercial applications, eg criminal investigation, electronic commerce, control Access, issuance National identification cards and electronic passports, etc... Because these types of detection systems are touch-based, users must press or roll their fingers on a surface of the platen to capture fingerprint images. Unfortunately, this capture scheme often introduces degraded images due to deformation of the skin (due to skin elasticity and non-uniform pressure), changes in skin condition (due to environmental changes and skin characteristics ) And latent prints on the surface of the sensor. FIGS. 1 (a) and (b) are two different images of the same finger. Due to the deformation of the skin, the relative positions of the minutiae sets of the two images are different. FIGS. 1 © and (d) show a minute type change due to nonuniform finger pressure. |
