ABSTRACT
The project consists of the right concept of university management system and efficient implementation of all the applications related to it. User can enjoy online management system at home without any extra effort.
The phenomenon of designing is a long process requiring time, energy and dedication, as well as the skills and experience of all those persons engaged in the task, ultimately culminating in the outcome as the final form of embodiment of the customer’s vision.
The underlying object of Minor Project lab is to provide the student with practical aspects of the Programming and Technology. Such type of lab helps the students to work in a real environment, to gain practical knowledge and to build confidence.
“Without practical the theoretical knowledge is incomplete.”
INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT
• UMS provide student to access all the information related to the University such as academics, administrative, cultural news and message upload by teacher for the respective student of the particular class.etc
• This project site is made for student by mentioning that all the important news and notices must be access by every student of the university by online. NOT NEED ANY NOTICE BOARD IN UNIVERSITY AFTER THAT.
• Many colleges made their own Management System for Student.
• In this Project Student can download the assignment which is uploaded by teacher. And after before submit that student have to upload assignment again to teacher by given facility.
INTRODUCTION TO .NET
1.1 History
After the release of Internet Information Services 4.0 in 1997, Microsoft began researching
Possibilities for a new web application model that would solve common complaints about active
Server pages, especially with regard to separation of presentation and content and being able to
Write "clean" code.
The initial prototype was called "XSP". The initial development of XSP was done using Java, but it was soon decided to build the new platform on top of the Common Language Runtime (CLR) instead. With the move to the Common Language Runtime, XSP was re-implemented in C# (known internally as "Project Cool" but kept secret from the public), and renamed to ASP+, as by this point the new platform was seen as being the successor to Active Server Pages, and the intention was to provide an easy migration path for ASP developers. During Gate’s keynote presentation, Fujitsu demonstrated ASP+ being used in conjunction with COBOL, and support for a variety of other languages was announced, including Microsoft's new Visual Basic .NET and C# languages, as well as Python and Perl support by way of interoperability tools created by Active State.
Once the ".NET" branding was decided on in the second half of 2000, it was decided to rename ASP+ to ASP.NET. "The .NET initiative is really about a number of factors, it’s about delivering software as a service, it's about XML and web services and really enhancing the Internet in terms of what it can do.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
System Analysis is a management technique, which helps in designing a new system or improving an existing system. System Analysis is the process of gathering and interpreting facts, diagnosing problems (if any), using information to recommend improvements to the system. There are four basic elements of system analysis: - Output, Input, Files, processes. For computerization of any system, the existing system must be thoroughly being understood to determine “how the computer can be best used to make its operation most effective”. This is acquired by analyzing existing system.
UNIT TESTING CONSIDERATION
The tests that occur as part of unit tests are illustrated schematically in the figure below. The module interface is tested to ensure that information properly flow into and out of the program unit under test. Local data structures are examined to ensure that data store temporarily maintains its integrity during all the steps in an algorithm’s execution. All independents (basis paths) through the control structure are exercised to insure that all the statements in a module have been executed at least one. Boundary conditions are tested to ensure that the module operates properly at boundaries establishlimit or restrict processing. And finally all error handling paths are tested.
Driver is a special program that uses test cases for checking module and prints the result. Stubs are used for replacing complicated modules. The smallest testable unit is the encapsulated class. Class testing is driven by the operations encapsulated by the class and the state behavior of the class.
CONCLUSION
The architecture of the .net the way various units are linked to each other and the way working of .net project coding is controlled make the student realize that engineering is not just learning the structured description and working of .net project but the greater part is of planning and proper management. It is also used to learn new and advanced technology.
However Minor Project lab has proved to be quite faithful. It has allowed an opportunity to get an exposure of the practical implement to theoretical fundamentals.
