During an industrial attachment, one can have different learning experiences. These experiences tend to blend, and therefore disappear over time. The personal diary will help you to benefit as much as possible from your industrial attachment. The student must record in the notebook their daily experiences in the department or section where he or she is attached for the entire period of Industrial Adhesion.
The student must maintain the daily operations log. Before presenting to work, the student should formulate the objectives of the day depending on the area in which he is working, a summary of the daily activities and the challenges that are found at the end of the day, which must be registered daily in the diary.
The Industrial Attachment Logbook is valid only if it is signed by the industry supervisor at the end of each week. If the supervisor of the industry is not signed in the department where the student was, the university will reject the student's record book.
RTUC supervisors should read the logbook and sign it during the monitoring visit.
FORMAT FOR THE BOOK OF INDUSTRIAL ACCESSORIES
The logbook must begin with the general objectives of Industrial Apego. These objectives must be generated individually according to the expectations of the student. The objectives must be SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and scaled over time)
Journal to do list
Formulate objectives that are reached daily, depending on the department. Example:
Date: 01/03/2011
Department: Department of Front Office-Reception:
Work shift: 7.00 AM - 3.00 PM (morning shift)
Aims of the day
I. Find out how the billing process is performed
Ii. Registration of arrival of the day,
Check if your goals were met at the end of the shift / day. Have different goals for each day during the 3 months.
Record any important issues for each day in your log book and how they were resolved: what you think was done well and what was not. (For example angry guest protesting poor service - did not see the lion on the game drive). This will form the basis for your report at the end of the Industrial Attachment period. Gather as much data as possible, every day in your notebook. Thank the staff you worked with before moving to another department. Record your observations and experiences carefully in your journal or notebook on a daily basis, since the RTUC lecturer will have to evaluate your progress and notebook when he or she visits you in your place of attachment.
