The purpose of this Result Analysis System is to create reports of grades obtained by students in University exams which can act as a measuring tool to study the student performance under various criteria and plays a major role in decision making Process. This software analyses the student details and gets instant statistical reports and control the operations of the computation process with the minimal manpower (single staff) and change your working strategy into trouble free, paperless management. The software also has a feature to send the generated report as an mobile phone instantly. INTRODUCTION Student Result Analysis system is used for the Students and the faculty to have an easy access for viewing the marks. It also makes the work simpler. Here in this the students can only view the marks if their Username and mobile number. They do not have the permission to change or update the marks. It is only the faculty who can update and view the students mark. It is also the duty of the faculty to distribute the report cards, the duty of the administrator, is to generate the report card and he/she can view the report cards. But the administrator cannot update cards. All these processes are done efficiently and easily in this Student Mark Analysis System. This project “Student Result Analysis System” deals with the complete details of academic details of the Student. It comprises of the student Roll no, Name, Marks Obtained, Total, Average, Attendance Percent etc. It can be accessed by the teacher or the faculty who alone can change or update the marks of the students, it is also duty of the faculty to distribute the records maintain the records, the duty of the administrator is to generate the report cards to the faculty members. The faculty will calculate the total marks and them based on the percentage obtained by the student he/she will be awarded the grades. Here the role of the student is to just view the marks entered by the faculty of the teacher, this project is constructed with modularity which helps in the easy understanding of the project and instances access of the student’s data. DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM The system is deployed into a single executable jar file which has various class files necessary for execution. It also has a support file for storing the default path of the input and output reports which has to be set initially. A. Insert/Edit details On clicking the Edit details button on the homepage, the details such as batch, department, section, no of students, year, semester are being asked from the user. After giving the necessary details a report file for the corresponding batch is created with the file name in the following format “batch-dept-section”. This format is followed in order to retrieve the report quickly. Now a worksheet in the form of “sem-semester no” is created. If the workbook is already present, it will be opened in write mode. Then the user will be given the form to enter the subject codes and credits allotted for each subject. Sorted Report: This report contains the student’s information sorted as per GPA. This helps in identifying the toppers in each department. These reports can also be sent via email by calling send email module to the Head of Departments or Principal directly without the need to search the document manually and upload each time. C. Send Email The username and password are entered which are then sent to the gmail server for authentication. If the login details are valid the mail screen is displayed. The mail can be sent to multiple users after selecting the desired file as the attachment. This module uses SMTP protocol for authentication and for sending the mail content to the remote server. A separate module also ensures that each student’s performance is being delivered as a report to their parents mail id (which is already present in the database) through the mail delivery system. The Result Analysis System was completely developed using Java and it is deployed into a single executable jar file for easy use. The software is designed in a user friendly manner. It has a single support file which holds the default path where the generated reports are contained. CONCLUSION Thus the result analysis system was designed and implemented. The time and space complexity was taken into account and found that the system was optimal and error free. It has features like calculating GPA, CGPA, pass percentage, sending email to the remote server etc. More provisions like graphs, generating internal marks are likely to be added in future. Thus the proposed system will help various Universities in and across India to help analyze students’ performance in exams easily and in a time efficient manner. In future the system can be upgraded by considering the following criteria.

Initially the user should choose the category whether he\she is a staff or a student. If the user is a staff then they can view the mark list, they can add new records and they can also update the values of the records. If the user is a student then he\she can only view the mark list. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS The Modules in the Project: 1. Login. 2. Password Checking 3. Display of Marks 4. Addition of New Records. 5. Deletion of Records. 6. Updation of Record. The first module is Login in which the user has to login to the system as a student/staff. The next module is to check the register number. The next module is Display of Marks. This displays the marks obtained by the students. The next module is Addition of New Records, where only the staff members can add new records. The next module is the Deletion of Records, where only the staff members can delete the records. The last module is the Updation of Records, where only the staff members can update the marks. Documentation: Sequence diagrams are easy and intuitive way of describing the behavior of a system by viewing the interaction between the system and its environment. A sequence diagram shows an interaction arranged in a time sequence. The objects used in this sequence diagram are, 1. Login 2. Display 3. Add 4. Delete 5. Update 6. Database BASIC FLOW: The staff member enters their name and password, and the password gets checked by the system. After confirmation of the password the system allows them to access. ALTERNATE FLOW: If the password entered by the staff is invalid then they has to reenter or quit from the process. The actor Staff and Student are the persons who interacts with the system. The object Login makes the staff/student to enter. The object Database will store all the marks of the students. This will also store the details of new records added by the staff. This will also remove the deleted records by the staff. It will also update the values changed by the staff. The object Display will display the marks of the student from the database. Documentation: A collaboration diagram represents a collaboration, which is a set of objects related in a particular context, and interaction, which is a set of messages exchanged among the objects within the collaboration to achieve a desired outcome. Collaboration diagram shows exactly the same information as the sequence diagram. However, collaboration diagram shows this information in a different way and with different purpose. In this collaboration diagram, the objects are represented as rectangle, the actors are stick figures. Whereas the sequence diagram illustrates the object and actor interaction overtime, the collaboration diagram shows the object and actor interaction without reference to time. In our STUDENT MARKS ANALYZING SYSTEM each object interacts with each other or collaborates with each other; it gets represented by the solid line drawn between them. |
