a vast array of mobile computing devices have emerged in the last decade. a new era of `ubiquitious' computing has been ushered in by these devices. But there has been little work linking the research of effective interaction techniques for these systems. The information resources are to be accessed through tiny displays of these devices and hence they are limited in their utility to the consumer. In situations where this information is `perishable', it can be very much problematic to the consumer. Perishable data here means that the value of which is only relevant to particular locations and times. The miniaturised versions of `standard' keyboards and pointing devices present another difficulty. numerous, delicate operations are to be performed by the user by selecting very small icons in the small display of the device.
The major driving forces of the research in this field are: -IMPROVING MOBILE DEVICE ACCESSIBILITY The trend of The overall aging of the population RESPONDING TO SITUATIONAL IMPAIRMENTS An ever increasing amount of personal computing is being done on the mobile devices away from the desktop UBI-INPUT: LEARN ONCE, WRITE ANYWHERE EDUCATION & MEDICINE ON MOBILE PHONES Get the details here: http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/dow...1&type=pdf http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/~johnson/worksh...obile.html http://en.wikipediawiki/MobileHCI |
