Operating principle
A load cell is a transducer that is used to convert an electrical signal into an electrical signal. This conversion is indirect and occurs in two stages. Through the mechanical arrangement, the force being detected deforms the astrain gauge. The Thestrain meter measures the deformation (deformation) as an electrical signal, because the voltage changes the effective electrical resistance of the wire.
