In order to place the dish at the exact angle to receive the maximum signal of a particular frequency, it must be adjusted manually. In order to overcome the difficulty of adjusting manually, this proposed system helps to adjust the position of the dish through a simple remote control. This system consists of two motors that allow the plate to move both horizontally and vertically.
The remote control of the television acts as a transmitter whose data is received by an IR receiver that is connected to a microcontroller of the family 8051. The remote TV sends encoded data to the receiver whose output is sent to the microcontroller. The microcontroller sends control signals to the motors through an interface IC also known as the motor controller IC.
The code followed by the TV remote control is a standard RC5 code. This code is used in the program to recognize the input code from the TV remote control so that the controller develops the appropriate output signal for the motor driver IC. In addition, the project can be improved by using RF control instead of IR that has line-of-sight communication restrictions.
