LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
1LIBRARY MANAGEMENT.doc (Size: 328 KB / Downloads: 140) ABSTRACT The project focuses on the development skills of the user. The knowledge acquired proves to be helpful and effective, only if it is implemented. The implementation of the knowledge acquired is trough project and case studies based on real time scenarios. The “LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” undertaken as a project is based on relevant technologies .The projects are done in groups where the student learn to work in a team, manage project schedules ,follow the best coding standards and conventions and adhere to project documentation standards. Here in this project we use front end as VC++ and backend as ms-access. We store information about the books and the students who have taken the books. All these details are stored in the database by entering into VC++ and the details can be displayed from the database by writing the query in VC ++. This project involves several modules to carry out each action. We created database for storing the details in tables .We created table for MEMBER DETAILS, a table for storing BOOK DETAILS and another table for storing the details of the students who have taken the books namely MEMBER BOOK DETAILS. We can also store the details at run time ,that is we can enter the student details by entering the details of the student separately at run time. Likewise the transaction details can also be entered at run time. We can either store in a database and see the details when required or see the details at run time by selecting the option display. Hence in the existing system for LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ,the performance evaluation system and the maintenance are done manually. The proposed system will maintain all the information in a standard database and will be able to generate reports as and when necessary.Accessing and the user has the right to search based on the above mentioned criterias. ANALYSIS PHASE In this Analysis phase we are analyzing the requirements what we want to do project. We have to collect the requirements needed to develop the project. For that we have to refer the books and websites for gathering the requirements. In this analysis phase, we have to design the project in mind how it has to be and what are all the operations that has to carry in the project and how it has to be interactive with the users and how it has to attract the customer. The project has to contain all the details about the members in the library and books in the library and the details the members who taken the books and this details has to store in the database for this type we have to analyze the problem and we have to develop the project. In this analysis phase we have to collect the details about the project such as what are all operations that will make interactive and what are all the fields that has to be present n the database and the database must store the details of all the members and the book details and the members who taken the books. . DESIGN PHASE In this design stage we are designing our project according to customer satisfaction or user satisfaction. In this design phase the user must understand the whole project by seeing the design of the project. After the completion of the analysis stage the user must design the project according to the collected requirements in the analysis stage. After the completion of the analysis stage the user must continue with the design stage. In this project the user must create the database to store the details of members, books, and reports tables based upon collection of table requirements collected in the design stage. In this tables, one field has been given as primary key in the design of tables because it won’t allow the duplicate values of members or it won’t accept the same id number for different members. CONCLUSION: In this we learned more about doing library management in C++ and connecting Database to it. This project needs to refer more books and search websites for doing this project. This makes an additional knowledge for us in C++ and Visual C++. In this Project we connected the database to visual c++ and we learned how to connect the database with c++ this makes an additional knowledge for us by knowing the details.

LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
LIBRARY MANAGEMENT.pdf (Size: 1.06 MB / Downloads: 140) INTRODUCTION In today’s world where computers are increasingly being used in almost all spheres of life, various types of software exist in market such as financial accounting ,inventory control, payroll etc. Despite this changing scenario almost all the Government organizations and institutes are running purely using manpower only. There are some government organizations which are fully or partially computerized. Library Management provides rent of books to Public sectors at concession rates. Stores cover almost all ranges of items from personal hygiene books to varieties of kitchen appliances. The validation of grocery card and billing procedure is very hectic and time consuming when performed manually & leads to error as well. Our project, “LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” is a computerized version of manual card validation and Book rent with stock maintenance and employee’s information. It provides speed and reliability and helps in fast generation of reports for evaluation and auditing purpose , keeping surplus stock, maintaining large number of records in small magnetic store for long-long period of time. Vision: A 21st century library serving the information needs of students and scholars at the physical and intellectual heart of the campus. Learners interact with each other and resources in many formats, aided by information professionals knowledgeable about their needs for their studies. A place where both those collaborating with others in their studies and those wishing to work on their own find a conducive study environment. A place where researchers and members of the community discover and draw upon the university's special collections of rare books, manuscripts and fine art. A place where the latest communication technology enables a rich interchange between learners, teachers and experts in the field and encourages enterprise and creativity as well as scholarship. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS In this Analysis phase we are analyzing the requirements what we want to do project. We have to collect the requirements needed to develop the project. For that we have to refer the books and websites for gathering the requirements. In this analysis phase, we have to design the project in mind how it has to be and what are all the operations that has to carry in the project and how it has to be interactive with the users and how it has to attract the customer. The project has to contain all the details about the members in the library and books in the library and the details the members who taken the books and this details has to store in the database for this type we have to analyze the problem and we have to develop the project. we have to collect the details about the project such as what are all operations that will make interactive and what are all the fields that has to be present in the database and the database must store the details of all the members and the book details and the members who taken the books. SYSTEM INFORMATION 3.1 Existing System: 1. Existing work was all manual so there was no facility to manage all data. 2. As Library Management/Stores facility is meant for Public sectors , so it should be strictly checked if this facility is not misused by officials. 3. There is no credit limit so people used to buy a number of costly items and sell them out for profits, it should be stopped. 4. There is no stock available information available to the Store manager, so he is not able to help customers. There is no database updation of fresh stock. Proposed System: 1. Single point data entry:- System provides single date entry only and reduces the duplication of data entry efforts. The data which is entered once will be stored and used repeatedly to generate the lists and print passbook ledger. This will help in saving time, data consistency, reliability and quality of time. 2. User friendly and attractive interface:- The system is fully user friendly. This system is completely quick access system by providing the some buttons on the left hand side of application window. The data entry screen will be close to the source document to make user comfortable in the data entry cooperation. DESIGN In this design stage we are designing our project according to customer satisfaction or user satisfaction. In this table, one field has been given as primary key in the design of tables because it won’t allow the duplicate values of members or it won’t accept the same id number for different members. For Book Details table also one primary key has been allocated for neglecting the same values for the field Book number and another table was created that is for storing the details of transaction that has been carried out, in that database it doesn’t have any keys in that because it can contain the details many users can take the book with same account number. After creation of tables the user must design the project that is it can also represent the design in the form of Data Flow Diagrams. In the Data Flow diagrams it contains the levels that is it has to be represented in Level 0 DFD, Level 1 DFD, Level 2 DFD,… so that we can represent the Data flow diagrams in that format up to number of DFD’s required in the project. CONCLUSION In this we learned more about doing library management in java and connecting Database to it. This project needs to refer more books and search websites for doing this project. This makes an additional knowledge for us in java. In this Project we learned how to connect the database with java this makes an additional knowledge for us by knowing the details. In the Library Management System in the future the additional information’s can be add and this project can be run on the internet in online manner. In online manner the users can take information from any place and at any time about the available books and all about the members which are added previously.

Library management system
Library management.doc (Size: 319 KB / Downloads: 101) Project Overview: Library management system is a system which maintain the information about the books present in the library. The books received in the library are entered in books entry form and the new members are entered in the members entry form. When the members wants to get the desired book the same is issued on the availability of the book is also entered into the book issue the members has to pay the fine if any on the basis of no.of days delayed deposit of the book in the library. This project (Library information system) is a general purpose project, which satisfies all the needs of a typical library system. The project has been tailored to solve the problem faced by the librarian, Members & Students in a manual processing of the information. Library usually perform their work manually in which large amount of time and human effort is wasted in retrieving information, handling of huge data, generation of reports, updating of data etc. these problems can be easily solved by the automation of existing library information. Existing system: In our existing system all the transaction of books are done manually, So taking more time for a transaction like borrowing a book or returning a book and also for searching of members and books. Another major disadvantage is that to preparing the list of books borrowed and the available books in the library will take more time, currently it is doing as a one day process for verifying all records. So after conducting the feasibility study we decided to make the manual Library management system to be computerized. Proposed system: Proposed system is an automated Library Management System. Through our software user can add members, add books, search members, search books, update information, edit information, borrow and return books in quick time. Our proposed system has the following advantages. DATABASE DESIGN: The general theme behind a database is to handle information as an integrated whole. A database is a collection of interrelated data stored with minimum redundancy to serve many users quickly and effectively. The general objective is to make information access, easy quick, inexpensive and flexible for other users. Conclusion: Our project is only a humble venture to satisfy the needs in a library. Several user friendly coding have also adopted. This package shall prove to be a powerful package in satisfying all the requirements of the organization. The objective of software planning is to provide a frame work that enables the manger to make reasonable estimates made within a limited time frame at the beginning of the software project and should be updated regularly as the project progresses. Last but not least it is no the work that played the ways to success but ALMIGHTY |
