ABSTRACT
In our world, everything is replaced or they can be developed in an advanced manner by using different technologies. But, there is no replacement for life of humans. Ambulances are provided to help the people who met with accidents or the people who are in emergency conditions without any delay. Traffic signals are provided to allow the vehicles in a specified direction based on traffic. But, when the ambulances are in heavy traffic, they don’t have any options to move because of traffic signals. Sometimes, this reason causes even the death of the victims.
Our project was introduced in order to avoid the above problem. In this an automated congestion control system is used for clearing the traffic junction by signalling according to the availability of ambulance. Now a day’s every system is automated in order to face new challenges. Automated systems are more accurate, flexibility, reliability etc.., The congestion control system is one of the automated system which works depending up on situation of the patient. Based upon these, two sections are present. One section is at traffic signal junction. And another is at ambulance. The ambulance transfers the information to another section by activating switches. According to the information, the traffic signal section carried out the control action that is timing for green light. The technology used in this system is ‘ZIGBEE’which is a new wireless technology. So we can save the life of a person by using this technology.
INTRODUCTION
Life is the most important thing which should not be regained. But this type of valuable life is causing death because of various health problems and accidents. Mostly half of the people died with diseases and the remaining with accidents. The first problem can be overcome at present by the development of the technology. The second one can be avoided by taking out to hospitals in time.
In these two cases the victims can be saved by providing medical support in time. For
These purpose ambulances are provided. The main purposes of the ambulances are to provide hospital services in time.
As year’s increases, the development of technologies also increases .This reasons causes the reduction cost of vehicles which in turn causes traffic problem. This is the main problem which occurs normally in metropolitan cities. The traffic creates problem to the ambulances for not providing medical support in time. This reason causes even the death the victims also, to overcome this problem we are introducing our project “INNOVATIVE CONJESTION CONTROL FOR AMBULANCE USING ZIGBEE”. Congestion control is a method in which reduces the over load depending upon its capacity
In our project, there are two sections: 1.Ambulance section (or) transmitter section
2. Traffic signal section (or) receiver section.
The communication between these two sections is carried out with the help of zigbee technology.
The transmitter section consists of keypad with 5 switches. It also contains 2051 microcontroller with 20-pin configuration. The data is transmitted with the help of zigbee transceiver. The receiver section is also contains a micro controller which is of LPC2148 with arm processor. It also contains an LCD section for display of data which is received by the receiver.
EMBEDDED SYSTEM
An embedded system is a special-purpose system in which the computer is completely encapsulated by or dedicated to the device or system it controls. Unlike a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, an embedded system performs one or a few predefined tasks, usually with very specific requirements. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product. Embedded systems are often mass-produced, benefiting from economies of scale.
Personal digital assistants (PDAs) or handheld computers are generally considered embedded devices because of the nature of their hardware design, even though they are more expandable in software terms. This line of definition continues to blur as devices expand. With the introduction of the OQO Model 2 with the Windows XP operating system and ports such as a USB port — both features usually belong to "general purpose computers", — the line of nomenclature blurs even more.
Physically, embedded systems ranges from portable devices such as digital watches and MP3 players, to large stationary installations like traffic lights, factory controllers, or the systems controlling nuclear power plants.
In terms of complexity embedded systems can range from very simple with a single microcontroller chip, to very complex with multiple units, peripherals and networks mounted inside a large chassis or enclosure.
Examples of Embedded Systems:
• Avionics, such as inertial guidance systems, flight control hardware/software and other integrated systems in aircraft and missiles
• Cellular telephones and telephone switches
• Engine controllers and antilock brake controllers for automobiles
• Home automation products, such as thermostats, air conditioners, sprinklers, and security monitoring systems
• Handheld calculators
• Handheld computers
• Household appliances, including microwave ovens, washing machines, television sets, DVD players and recorders
• Medical equipment
• Personal digital assistant
• Videogame consoles
• Computer peripherals such as routers and printers.
• Industrial controllers for remote machine operation.
