HISTORY :-
Mangalam Cement Ltd (Mangalam Cement) was promoted by the B K Birla group in 1978 to manufacture OPC and PPC. The company set up its manufacturing plant at Morak in Rajasthan.
The company has recently commissioned its state-of-art new cement plant with Germon technology for producing 7 lakh tonnes per annum at its existing site at morak.
Mangalam cements has it’s own mines for raw material ( CaCO3 ).
CONCEPT OF CEMENT :-
An extremely finely ground product obtained by burning together at high temp. specifically proportioned amount of calcareous and argillaceous raw material, adding nothing else to the brunt product except Gypsum in small percentage.
It was about 150 years ago or so that “Cement” as we know and use it today was invented or prepared . Mr Joseph Aspadin of England
Cement is a fine powder which when mixed with water and allow to set and harder can join different components together to give a strong structure mechanically.
CROSS BELT ANALYZER :-
It is a device to pile correction in cement industry. It is installed across the belt to analyze the content of material that’s why it called CBA. The first installation of the cross-belt analyzer (CBA) cement occurred in 1993.
COOLER SECTION :-
The brunt material discharge from the kiln falls through the inlet shaft of the cooler on the entry to the grate.
Cooler reduces the temperature of clinker from 1000˙C to 150˙C.
This hot clinker is cooled from air stream produced by various cooler fans.
CEMENT MILL :-
This mill is similar to the raw mill where hydraulic gates are used to control the overfeeding of the material.
The horizontal rollers crushes the clinker into finely pulverized powder known as CEMENT.
The clinker is mixed with Gypsum, which is added as a set retarder and ground approximately 30 minutes in large tube mill.
