Abstract
Programming is one of the essential areas taught in university studies of Computer Science and other engineering degrees. At present, it is a knowledge acquired through tutorial classes and the practice with different tools for programming. This paper shows the acquired experience in the
development and use of a simple compiler accessible through a Web page. In addition it presents a teaching proposal for its use in subjects that include programming languages lessons. OLC -On-Line Compiler - is an application which greatly lightens the student’s workload at the initial stage of programming. During this initial period they will neither have to deal with the complexities of the installation and the configuration of these types of tools, Nor with the understanding of multiple options which they present. Therefore students can concentrate on the comprehension of the programming structures and the programming language to be studied.
Introduction
At the time of learning languages like C, C++, Java … Etc. The beginners had number of problem like to install compilers at desktop-pc. Some time student had to face the problem of configuring the compiler. So that they can’t get execute the program successfully. And other problem is that if the user want to compile program on any other system they require again all processing to install and configuration problem. Security is one more problem of the user or programmer. Because due to the viruses or some time not properly handling the application the source file may be damaged or lost by the system crash. To solve all these problem our team has thought of designing an online compiler to execute the program on different type of source code by one editor with providing all type of security. And also a well configured compiler providing services by servers.
OLC: Learning Programming
Nowadays, programming is one of the
essential areas taught in university studies of Computer Science and other engineering degrees, as well as in diplomas of Computer Science. At present, it is a knowledge acquired through theoretical classes and the
practice with different tools for programming such as editors, compilers, linkers, debuggers or interpreters. In addition to this we find teacher tutorial classes. Being included in all programming subjects, compilers generate the executable
programs made of the instructions written by the programmers. Compilation is a process carried out by means of the succession of a set of operations through which, using the instructions written in a programming language, we obtain the code written in another language that is understood by the computer. This is how we obtain executable programs. The Web 2.0 is at its very peak, this fact and the change in the web navigators’ function allow to make use of them as production tools such as text editors,
spreadsheets or, as we expound in the
present work, a compiler. In this way we can move a Multilanguage IDE from a computer to a Web page. OLC -On Line Compiler- is an application which greatly lightens the student’s workload at the initial stage of programming.
